Newsweek wastes time: MySpace cofounder Tom lies about his age
We all know him. He’s Tom, that guy that’s automatically added to your friends list the moment you join MySpace. Tom is also a MySpace cofounder, and he lies about his age.
It turns out Tom is five years older than he lets on to be. Currently, his profiles describes him as 32, and he claimed to be 27 when MySpace was first born.
Well, Newseek did some investigative reporting to learn more about Tom Anderson, and it turns out he’s significantly older than he claims to be.
His birthday, coming up in November, would make his online persona 33, but he will actually turn 37. It would make sense for Tom to lie about his age in order to maintain a more likeable image amongst the young MySpace crowd, but do you know what’s the worst part about this story?
I’ll tell you what’s the worst part: Newsweek did the research.
