Cyber-squatter demands a job at Google in exchange for domain ownershipsA German network administrator who cyber-squatted at least eight Google-related domain names, has demanded a job at Google in exchange for handing over ownership of the domains.

Sebastian Klein, 27, has posted an open letter to Google in 10 languages on each of the sites saying that he would relinquish the domain addresses for free if he got a job offer in return.

In a letter, he said “Hi Google, I would not like to keep these domains, earn also no money with it. I return it to you immediately free of charge. All I seek for is a job at Google.”

He also said why he wants to work at Google.

“Google is an incredibly successful company, with which I gladly would like to identify. Google reached in a relatively short time a lot and that through creative heads and through support for the individual. Google is probably not just for me (because I only read it in the news) one of the best employers in the world. With Google one still seems to be able to reach somewhat, to be able to introduce his ideas.”

Klein disclosed that he is very interested to work particularly at Google’s security department. He also went on specifying some “work conditions” he wants.

“Important for me is that I every weekend somehow come to Cologne, in order to visit my daughter. Of course, there can be exceptions, but I would not be longer than a maximum of three weeks away from Cologne. Of course money also plays a certain role. I would like to perform a lot and also be paid well. However, quite clearly I am ready to put back with the money if for it the work is great fun.”

A Google spokesman said: “This guy’s approach is certainly novel, but I’d probably advise him to email us a CV via our jobs board instead,” Smh writes.

Klein was able to get hold of the domain names which include adwordsgoogle.de, docsgoogle.de, gdrivegoogle.com and translategoogle.de.

At the time of writing, Klein’s URLs have now been redirected to Google’s official sites. However, it was not clear if Klein has received a job offer, or just redirected these URLs on his own. We doubt it was because he received a job offer.
