Asus confirms Apple Mac tablet PC
The most chic company in the techology world today, Apple, has been making waves of late with the iPhone, iPod, and its newest OS, Leopard. Get ready for another big splash, because ASUS has revealed that Apple is working with them to develop a long-rumored tablet PC that will tote Leopard and multi-touch technology.
According to The Inquirer, an Asus exec let it slip over lunch that Apple is working closely with Asus to design its newest toy, a tablet PC.
Equipped with an expected Intel chipset, the new unit will most likely boast technology included in a 2005 patent submitted by Apple for a similar unit. Additionally, it will include a full version of Apple’s Leopard and will utilize the multi-touch technology found in the iPhone and iPod touch.
Personally, I feel like all the rumors that have been circulating regarding a new Apple PDA or Newton, an ultra-compact laptop, and tablet PC will end up a conglomerate of all those ideas: perhaps a 7-10″ touchscreen unit that will function as an ultra-portable, multi-touch platform for a full version of Leopard that utilizes the iPhone’s touch keyboard?
Apple tends to release new products in the spring; expect the new product to drop then, if it is finished.

I know this is news from yesteyear, but I don’t think Apple will collaborate with PC manufacturers, ever.
