By Ruben Francia

Google Custom Search is now available worldwideThe Google Custom Search Business platform is now available internationally in 40 languages, and in close to 80 countries worldwide. It was previously only available in the United States of America to allow organizations to add Google search functionally to their web sites.

The Google Custom Search Platform comes in two flavors: the free ad supported version and the Custom Search Business Edition. The free ad supported version, which is still in beta, is ideal for small businesses and organizations that requires no additional look and feel customization and technical support.

The Custom Search Business Edition, however, is targeted at businesses and organizations that require complete control over their look and feel. In addition, it also offers an option for email and phone support plus a choice about whether to include ads or not.

The business version’s cost varies depending on the number of search pages. The cost starts at $100 per year for searching up to 5,000 pages to $2250 per year for up to 300,000 pages.

Robert Whiteside, UK and Ireland Google enterprise manager told Vnunet that “Our focus remains on improving the end user experience. That’s the best way for us to serve our users, innovate and stay ahead.”

Whiteside also stressed the important role of search facility in keeping visitors on a site once they arrive.

“By improving the ease, speed and accuracy with which users can find what they need, businesses can ensure that their website justifies the investment.”
