Pepperidge Farm drops its cookies in the social networking basket

By Triston McIntyre

Pepperidge Farm drops its cookies in the social networking basketSocial networking sites being all the rage nowadays, why not have options to connect to people who have something in common with you?  Like yummy Pepperidge Farm cookies?

Pepperidge Farm lovers rejoice: the cookie company, owned by Campbell Soup, has launched a social networking site of its very own.  Targeted towards women looking to improve their social lives, the sites’ slogan is, “Connecting through cookies,” according to the New York Times.

The centerpiece of cookie connection is the website artofthecookie.com.

The whole site really is centered around women building relationships with other women, and is headed by Sally Horchow, one writer of a two writer team that crafted “The Art of Friendship: 70 Simple Rules for Making Meaningful Connections.”

On the site you can find videos on how to build and maintain successful friendships.

Cookies are definitely a great way to bond; it’s hard to be angry at someone when they hand you a handful of yummy cookies.  Users should beware that building friendships through cookies could lead you and your friends to new heights of friendship as you search for social networking sites centered around dealing with cookie addiction and obesity.
