Google Checkout offers frequent flier miles, discounts until Dec. 31If you’re a Google Checkout user or you’ve been thinking about diving into Google’s PayPal alternative, I have good news for you. Google is offering fequent flier miles and generous discounts for using the company’s service, although the offer only lasts until December 31.

If you’re unfamiliar with Google Checkout, it’s Google’s form of PayPal. If you’re unfamiliar with PayPal, it’s a service for transfering money, including the ability to make payments, through the web. Several online retailers provide PayPal, Google Checkout, or both as an alternative to paying online. Currently, Google Checkout is offered as a payment option at some of the web’s biggest stores including TigerDirect, Zales: The Diamond Store, Buy.com, JR.com, and more.

According to the press release, the airlines participating in Google’s airline rewards program include Alaska Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Midwest Airlines, Northwest Airlines, US Airways, and United Airlines.

While shopping the Internet for the holidays, using Google Checkout could land you some pretty nice discounts at over 100 different stores. These offers range from free shipping to discounts of up to $50 off.
