Canadian geek comedians play non-stop for charity, shaming any American Halo 3 marathoners
By Emilie Branstetter
Canadian comedy group LoadingReadyRun has sat down and jacked themselves up with enough caffeine and sugar to kill most small children. Why have they done this, you ask? Why would they torture themselves with a driving game so boring it never saw release? Simple, it’s called charity.
The 4 young men that make up LoadingReadyRun decided earlier in the month upon a little known game called “Desert Bus”. Featuring an 8 hour long featureless landscape and the visually mind numbing picture of the dash board of a bus, they set up a few rules and jumped into the driver’s seat on November 23.
Each of the 4 drivers will take rotating turns with 4 hour shifts. If any of them drive the bus off the road they restart the entire journey from the beginning (check their current total time to see why this could be absolutely hilarious) and to top it off, they cannot leave their post at any time.
For the sake of the charity of choice, Child’s Play, LoadingReadyRun made it to where the amount of time needed to be driven is dependent on the amount donated through them to Child’s Play. Originally the goal was to hit $5,000 USD, but the lovingly sadistic nature of people has almost tripled that amount, insuring that these 4 boys will be at the helm for at least 102 hours.
Funny enough, watching these guys would warn anyone that playing this game is a bad idea. Obviously the warning wasn’t loud enough as the newest notice over at Desert Bus for Hope announces two sympathetic webcams, driving right along with them.
If you would like to see any of these guys driving (they have already been at the helm for 74 hours) or are interested in prolonging their torture, head over to Desert Bus for Hope.
