The government will never win. We are the people. Our crime is that of curiosity. Our loss is our freedom. Hacking is a skill not for the lazy, nor the unintelligent. It takes a honed eye to see an exploit. It takes a sharp mind to use it. Exploit code, not people - we are anonymous. Expect us.

As long as it is not the government of the day defines what is a criminal activity - I recall a Labour Home Secretary defining a subversive as anyone who causes problems for the government. So an investigative journalist, if there are any left, could be arrested for using a password recovery tool on hteir own computer on the grounds that he intends to use it ti firther subversive activities.

Don't laugh, I am told public criticism of UK government policies has already been made illegal.

The article says:

"After the criticism, the government, via the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service) has issued some guidelines on how to read the rules. These establish that to be convicted, the developer of a tool would have to be shown to intend to use it for a criminal activity."
