I agree with DappaDan!

First of all I do feel bad for all those that have bought HD-DVD but why should I really? Its a format war, there was going to be a loser and a winner!

People moaning and still saying that they love their HD-DVD players, honestly you should start thinking about returning them soon to atleast save some money or the bin is wear it will end.

Blu Ray from the start was the hot contender to win this war and please dnt get me to quote, i've got bored of this war, do a little research!

Anyway im just gonna shout my say and get this over with.

Anyone notice that Xbox fanbois have been very quite lately?

also where is that guy, you know the one that comes out with bloody long explination on why HD-DVD is better and will win?? what happened to him?

funny though, you still get guys coming on here going on and on that the future is download content and no more disks. Thats a future I dnt wanna see, are you mad!!!

Its not going to take over its going to work alongside buying normal disks, some people will download and some purchase and that will not change for a long.... long....long time.

Where is my research for the above statement you ask? oops none, sorry!

oh just throwing this idea out, could be the worst idea I have ever thought, comment you can, i dnt give a toot but

what if Toshiba and Sony made a deal, before the war started, a lot of people said nothing will happen, people will buy DVDs still, what if Sony and Toshiba realised this and thought lets get a lot of media attention as well as fooling buyers into purchase by starting a war.

By starting this media crazy format war people became aware of HD-DVD and Blu-Ray plus its not like Toshiba and Sony hate each others guts, the two companies have a history of working together, in fact the PS3 Cell processor was built with Toshiba and IBM as partners.

End of the the day when HD-DVD is put in its grave, Toshiba will have to make its first Blu Ray Player.

So Toshiba wont make a major loss ? or will it? I mean they have sold all those HD-DVD's but then even if they loose they will re-coupe by going Blu Ray

Did sony not make a VHS player after the Betamax fail?

people you can let me know how rubbish that idea sounds sure but any fiber or truth you reckon?

Ha ha, i love it!! Another slap in the face for all you idiots that were backing the Toshiba camp. Did you guys really think HD DVD would win this one?? I know the war is not quite over yet, but with a Blu-Ray player built into every Playstation 3 (which has just passed the 1.2m sold in the US alone) it can only really go one way. I've been backing Sony from the start and its good to see that the superior product is going to win.

HD DVD is a great format, I fully support it...(especially after watching Planet Earth). What is disappointing is that the titles seem fewer and fewer...I couldn't agree more that the film industy should be supporting both....would have bought rush hour three had New Line released it in HD...but now it's a matter of principal, I outright refuse to buy it or rent it.

"New Line Cinema doesn’t take nearly the catalog of titles with it that Warner Brothers does..."

Hello? New Line Cinema has THE LORD OF THE RINGS and the upcoming THE HOBBIT. If New Line Cinema had re-released the expanded LOTR trilogy in Blu-ray, then Blu-ray could have killed HD DVD a long time ago.
