Danny, they call marijuana dope for a reason – because it has the potential to gradually turn a susceptible heavy user into one. The cognitive and psychological damage attributed to THC is well researched and well-documented.

I would agree that alcohol and tobacco are far more damaging and socially disruptive than marijuana – 27 years as a paramedic has taught me that lesson extremely well. But it has also taught me that there is no such thing as a safe drug, which is the unfortunate inference you make about marijuana in this article.

I read the article mentioned in your link, and looked at the who the contributors were. I didn’t see too much objectivity from the pro-marijuana lobby. Most of them were justifying legalisation because of the failure of prohibition. Funny how they were all a little short on medical evidence to back up their stance.
