Has Apple spent a little too much time in the spotlight?
By Triston McIntyre
Apple is the poster company for technology these days; just dropping the name brand Apple makes rich people feel rich, and normal people lust after that which they probably don’t need. All the glitz and glamour have been paying Apple big dividends, but after a while, if the spotlight stays on for too long, everyone watching the show starts picking apart the star.
Apple isn’t sweating yet; of course, the spotlight does get toasty, but all the fantastic publicity that has surrounded the chic tech giant has filled all the seats at Macworld and other Apple-centric events for a few years now. A star is a star, until the public decides that Britney Spears really shouldn’t be a mother…or that Apple might not be perfect.
The new Apple portable, the Macbook Air might not be the straw that breaks Apple’s back; after all, why would it? The small portable is a testament to technological innovation and progress. What is really wrong with the Macbook Air?
The problem with the Macbook Air is that the public is tired of Apple’s name being shouted up and down the streets as the best thing since the internet. The phrase, “any publicity is good publicity,” really doesn’t stand up when the public decides to start tearing apart your pretty new portable computer.
That isn’t to say that Apple is fatefully doomed; obviously, with a bigger spotlight, the star inevitably has more critics, and they aren’t always right. Will Apple suffer from the negative publicity? Perhaps. Maybe we can all drop the talk of the appropriateness of Apple’s Macbook Air and move onto something else that hasn’t been rehashed so thoroughly; Windows 7, anyone?

Apple is a great company, I think they are doing a great job. The Apple Air is something that proves that. but here are somethings wrong with The Apple Air. First off you have no CD or disk driver other then a hard drive. So you will have to buy an apple CD drive that can connect wirelessly. You have to buy even more Apple products to get it to work with everything you need it to work with, so what i am saying is. Its HIGH cost does not come with everything, you have to buy even more apple products to complete the computer.
I think Apple is becoming worse than Microsoft. They are monopolizing there own systems. Which I guess they have a right doing it, but until more companies make hardware and products for the mac, I do not see why one should buy it until then.
but this just shows how far ahead Apple is in technology.
Mixed feelings about this company from myself. I personally do not hate or like Apple, but find there products not something worth buying as of yet. Once more products are made for the mac, which seems to becoming the case soon, I will find myself using the mac more often. Until then my powerful computer with Windows XP and some personal programs will do the trick for all my needs.
by the way, I never really liked microsoft, but use them because a lot companies make products for those machines. Linux is ok, but still far behind apple and microsoft. Ok, im going to shutup now.
