Zune victim sues Microsoft for ear damage
By Triston McIntyre
Though the Zune isn’t really considered to be a high-profile MP3 player like the iPod, the ugly little gadget is making a few waves. One disheartened Zune user is suing Microsoft, claiming that his Zune caused his ears irreparable damage…and no, he wasn’t listening to Hanna Montana.
In 2006, one person who was kind enough to adopt Microsoft’s neglected device, a one Joel Geddis is probably now regretting his purchase; Geddis claims that, while enjoying some tunes, his Zune reset and blasted his ears at full volume.
What resulted was what he calls, “permanent fluid leakage from [his] ear canal, impaired hearing, and incessant ringing and discomfort,” so sayeth Engadget. I would say I feel his pain, but, well…I don’t.
What does every intelligent abused Zune user with ear damage do? Those people (or really just Geddis) sue both Microsoft and Toshiba, the hardware manufacture responsible for the unsightly little device.
We think he has a pretty good case; I would say, “lesson learned,” in regards to trusting Microsoft, but that could be in bad taste.

Kwadwo - you’re right, the Zune was launched in November 2006. I’ve fixed the story. Our apologies for the error.

Triston McIntyre, please get the story right. Also, stick to writing reviews for Apple products, because just about anything that has to do with Microsoft because most, if not all of your reports are full of bullshit.
