Comcast hires stooges to fill seats at FCC hearings

By Triston McIntyre

Comcast hires stooges to fill seats at FCC hearingsEveryone is familiar with the household name Comcast — though everyone associates it with cable in some way, many associate it with underhanded business practices. That is exactly what the FCC is trying to determine at a series of hearings currently being held at Harvard; the FCC will potentially force service providers to provide steady and consistent service, something that Comcast is notorious for not doing.

Essentially, Comcast’s imaginary head is on the chopping block after the company has been found guilty of choking user peer-to-peer traffic in many shady ways; what better way to stay the swift hand of judgement than to fill the hearing with people who are paid not to speak against the company? Don’t look so shocked — that is exactly what Comcast did, according to Portfolio.

Comcast mouth Jennifer Khoury said that Comcast did in fact hire people to hold spots in line for employees that couldn’t be present at the time the line formed, but she denies that those people made their ways into the courtroom to fill up seats that people who may or may not have serious problems with Comcast could have taken.

Whether Comcast denies it or not, the fact of the matter is those hired stooges did make their way into the hearing and fill seats that truly interested individuals were denied. Above is a picture of stooges actually sleeping through the hearing — note how appropriately they are dressed for such an event at Harvard. Classy, Comcast…classy.
