Best Buy offers $50 gift card or trade-in for HD-DVD player purchases
After FutureShop and Circuit City began offering HD-DVD extended returns/discounts/trade-ins now Best Buy had gotten the message and is doing the same thing. If you were the unlucky buyer of an HD-DVD player at Best Buy before February 23, 2008 you have two options available to you. If you did not buy the player from Best Buy, the good folks in blue, tan and yellow are still willing to help you out.
Those that purchased an HD-DVD player at Best Buy according to the aforementioned date, are automatically entitled to a $50 gift card for each HD-DVD player purchased. The company warns that if you do not receive it by May 1 of this year to call its help line.
If you did purchase your player at Best Buy and do not want the $50 gift card there is another option to you as well as those that did not buy the player at Best Buy.
Best Buy will be instituting an HD-DVD hardware and media trade-in program starting on March 21, visit BestBuyTradeIn.com to “estimate of the value of your HD DVD player and movies.” Once you have the estimated value of your player and movies, you have the option of exchanging them for a gift card in that amount.
Players eligible for the gift card program include,

HD-A1, HD-A2, HD-A20, HD-XA2, HD-A3, HD-A30, HD-A35 - Microsoft Xbox 360 HD DVD player accessory model 9Z5-00013
