Blogolyzer checks sobriety before blogging

By George Gardner

Chemical substance abuse among bloggers has recently become a growing concern in the blogosphere; we’ve all seen their intoxicated-posts, using late 90’s buzzwords while prefixing every other word with a noun-like adjective. A small Australian company, SoBlog , has come to the rescue with a new device expected to hit the market in Spring of next year.

The device, known as the Blogolyzer (shown left), will check your blood alcohol content (BAC) prior to posting to your blog. Its integrated software will render your blogging client useless if it detects a .08 percentage of alcohol on your breath. The software additionally scans your posts for certain buzzwords upon the presence of ANY alcohol; if too many are found, it will lower the accepted level you are allowed to blog at.

Glenn Anderson, CEO of SoBlog, said, “I hope the introduction of this product next year, aside from other things, will aid in the fight against intoxicated bloggers across the country.”

Anderson expects to launch other products which will detect common  narcotics, but is currently focused on getting SoBlog’s Blogolyzer on the market by April 1st of 2009.
