Get a 5GB Dell Pocket DJ MP3 player for $40

By Jonathan Schlaffer

Get a 5GB Dell Pocket DJ MP3 player for $40Dell may not be making new MP3 players but that’s no reason you can’t snag a great deal on an older (refurbished) unit. It may be kind of ironic that Creative (not Dell) is the one offering the deals on the refurbished Dell Pocket DJ MP3 players.

Creative is offering refurbished 5GB Dell Pocket DJ MP3 Player for only $40 and it may not be an iPod Nano or Zen but it… plays music and that’s about it. It’s not very attractive by today’s standards and the display is lacking, again, by today’s standards but don’t be too dissmissing of it; it’s only $40.

It has a 1.6-inch monochrome backlit display, 10 hours of playback, supports WMA, WMA DRM, MP3 and WAV formats.  For transfering files you will find a mini-USB connector and compatibility with Windows XP, 2000 or ME; it was released before Vista so obviously you can try using it under that operating system but there’s no promises as to if it will work or not (probably not).

In the box you will find standard issue equipment; the Dell Pocket DJ, Earphones, a USB 2.0 cable and the installation CD.

The Dell Pocket DJ is only for those unwilling or unable to afford a Microsoft Zune or any of the various iPods but if the only iPod you’re looking at is the Shuffle then please consider the Dell Pocket DJ (unless you’re using a Mac).
