Airis Kira 100 is an (im)perfect copy of Asus EeePC

By Jonathan Schlaffer

Airis Kira 100 is an (im)perfect copy of Asus EeePCJust how many EeePC knock-offs does the world need?  Well, Airis sensed the need to make yet another one with its Kira 100.  It may have actually managed to improve on the good old EeePC in a few areas but I would still rather have the original because, nothing is the same as the original.

Nevertheless the Kira 100 does bring a few other things to the table.  It is equipped with a VIA C7 processor at 1GHz though the jury is still out as to whether that is actually faster than the Celeron processor used in the EeePC but the VIA processor will easily be bested by the Atom processor, there’s no doubt in my mind about that.

It has the standard issue 7" 800 x 480 display, Ethernet, modem, card reader, two USB 2.0 ports, WiFi, Webcam and a four hour battery.

Remind you of anything?  Of course it does.  Why not buy it from a slightly more reputable company unless you really want the thing in bright yellow.  That’s right, the Kira 100 comes in White, Pink, Black and Yellow.

If you want some more information, Engadget can help you out unless you prefer the Spanish version.
