RBC Royal bank gives away Asus EeePCs with new checking accounts

By Jonathan Schlaffer

RBC Royal bank gives away Asus EeePCs with new checking accounts Do you need to switch banks or open a new checking account and live in Canada?  Do you want a free Asus EeePC?  Then head on down to your local RBC Royal bank branch to sign up or get started online.

According to Engadget, RBC Royal bank will hand you a brand new Asus EeePC once your account is all set up.  I’m sure it’s not that easy and it will probably come to you in the mail but it’s still a nice deal.

Granted, it’s only the EeePC 2G surf model but it’s a lot better than what other banks offer with new accounts.  You’ll get the EeePC if you open a RBC Signature or VIP banking account.  There are plenty of limitations on this so read the agreement carefully but this certainly stands out,

“Royal Bank of Canada reserves the right to modify, extend or end the promotion in its absolute discretion at any time without notice.

Limit one Eee PC per client, per account. Eee PC will be sent to the primary account holder only. Cannot be combined with any other offer. Limited time offer while quantities last. Account and card must be open & active until Dec. 31, 2008.”

Now, how about some US banks get onboard with this (or a similar) program?  I’m waiting.

The RBC deal is confirmed. I have received mine a couple days ago, and already hacking away at it……the conditions to the deal are pretty reasonable compared to the retail value of the unit……all I had to do is switch to the VIP account, and sign up for paperless billing, all the rest was already done……..extra $15 a month till January, doesn’t even add up to the retail value of the eeepc, so it was a total score for me :)

But yes, I can definitely say…..CONFIRMED
