Asus working to release Atom based EeePC 900 with more features in June

By Jonathan Schlaffer

Asus working to release Atom based EeePC 900 with more features in June It pays to wait.  Asus is indeed planning on releasing an Atom based EeePC 900 in June and will pack it with more features to further differentiate it from the EeePC 700.

According to Digitimes, Asus will equip the the EeePC 900 with Bluetooth and will add metal alloy parts to the keyboard, touchpad and hinge.

The Atom based EeePC will have a designation of model 901 and will have the same specs except for the processor and different logos.  Asus plans to release the EeePC 901 with the Atom processor on June 3 with both Linux and XP operating systems as options.

Price is expected to hit below $650.  Some of you may have already picked up the EeePC 900 but I have been saying all along that it would pay to wait.  Whether or not its worth the $650 is up to you because a full-size laptop can be had for that much; mind you, not a great one but it can be done.

It stands to reason that the model with XP will cost more than the one with Linux but that too remains to be seen for certain.
