Arrested child porn offender blames Google

By Danny Mendez

Arrested child porn offender blames GoogleAn arrested child porn viewer blames web companies for making it too easy to access child pornography, but he admits he knew exactly what he was doing. WTF?

William Dalgleish of the UK was recently caught with a number of illegal photos when police raided his home, and now his fate is in the hands of a jury, says the BBC. We won’t try to explain the logic behind the man’s argument because we’re not psychologists, but the defendant blames Google for feeding his addiction to child porn .

“He feels if companies like Google did not provide access to such sites, he would not have committed the offences,” says Susan Burns, Dalgleish’s lawyer. Although companies like Google make it easier to find information across the Internet, the tools and services developed by these organizations can easily be used to hurt others.

Despite the reality of this fact, we cannot blame the gun — in this case Google’s web services — for the damage done. And we can’t help but point our finger at the gun holder — the defendant and his sources — for taking advantage of these exposed children.
