Is this thing Helio’s follow up to the original Ocean? If so, we like it. The Ocean’s successor is a lot like the current model but better… similar to how the Blorge staff’s efficiency when on steroids and speed.

Have you ever briefly wondered if all those microdeposits that you collect when you open a new online account at a bank or brokerage could ever add up to anything, if you were crazy enough to take the time to add them all up? Well you wouldn’t be crazy for thinking it, but you would certainly be a bit deranged if you followed through with it, like one California man who accrued over $50,000 in microdeposits in 6 months. Sometimes craziness pays, it seems.

The battle between traditional print press and the Internet is hotting up, with the former still fighting against the inevitable lurch to the Web. The latest twist is a group of Belgian newspapers suing Google for $77.5 million for being included in search results.

Singapore website owners have been slapped with demands for money from a company who insists it owns the patent to linking via images. Now, imagine if said company tries to do that to the entire World Wide Web.

Anyone who has ever purchased anything from eBay or an ebookstore knows that PayPal is a necessity. Rather than digging through your wallet for your credit card every time you make an online purchase, you can simply use PayPal from your computer, handheld or phone. In this age of online shopping where web surfing means crossing country borders with the Enter button, PayPal’s ongoing glitch is a major problem.

It all started with the EeePC model 701, then came the 901 but before we could all get used to the idea, the company announces model 1001. The EeePC model 1001 is set to compete with the line of 10-inch UMPCs being released by other companies.

I thought the issue of laptop and other portable device search and seizure was bad enough at customs between the United States and Europe. Then I read that it was spreading to Canada as well. This type of restrictive copyright based search and seizure practice is like the RIAA and MPAA’s wet dream, and more than just an expensive headache for many travelers.

Want to switch carriers for a better deal but can’t because of the Early Termination Fees? Well AT&T has put a plan in place that will allow someone to terminate their plan early. It isn’t much of a break but they hope it will keep Congress or the Courts from imposing a different plan.

Linux has some good things going for it like a dedicated developer community and a focus on improving energy and system efficiencies. Apparently recognizing the value in taking the Linux approach, Via Technologies just announced that it’s releasing the design of a low cost laptop under an open source hardware license.

For quite a while now, consumers have spoke out on forums, blogs, and even consumer protection groups regarding Dell’s less than ethical business practices…in fact sometimes, Dell has been downright shady. Finally consumers will get some satisfaction, as a New York court found Dell guilty of engaging in all the bad business practices that have adversely affected its consumers for so long.

We all know that solar panels are for collecting the sun’s energy either for heating water or storing energy, but what if those solar panels could also provide shelter? Well, two different initiatives are doing just that. Solar Groves are providing shade for parking lots and providing power for lighting while Solar Veils will provide shade for school children while providing energy and learning.

Always searching for the biggest, best-tasting lollipop, Red Hat Linux just decided to add a dash of earthy flavor. Linux vendors like Novell are focusing in on energy efficiency and power consumption, and hoping to catch some of the sugar sweet publicity that comes with anything green. Meanwhile Windows Vista is still angry and bloated.

Paypal has become a way of life for many, with everyone from eBay users (naturally) to self-employed people using it as a simple and effective way of being paid by many people all over the world. Which is great for Paypal, but also creates a huge problem when something goes wrong, as it has done now.
