God Jobs to release new 3G Jesus iPhone version at WWDC and other Apple predictions
By Leslie Poston
The World Wide Developers Conference is Apple’s big showcase for innovative new products. It was the home of the iPhone launch and has been host to many other announcements from the turtlenecked one over the years. Part of the fun in the WWDC is predicting what Jobs will announce (added bonus game this year of predicting at what point in the keynote Twitter will crash).
If you want to get the keynote live there are several places live blogging it, including MacScoop and Macworld. Meanwhile, allow me to present you with some off the cuff predictions. You can tell me how wrong (or right) I was after the keynote in the comments.
- Announce and release of the App Store
- Announce and release of a “mobile me” type of application
- The Jesus Phone (3G iPhone)
- Larger cinema displays showcased
- Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard discussed, limited or denied PowerPC access addressed
- iPhone SDK news with possible iPhone 2.0 ramifications
- Crappy .Mac service to get a new name and an upgrade so it is less… inadequate
- No new Macs announced
- iTunes rentals and other iTunes upgrades announced
- AppleTV plans announced, possibly with games
- Some kind of schnazzy iChat in Leopard demo
I can’t wait to see how I did. What are your predictions?
*hat tip to Cyndy Aleo-Carreira for the Jesus Phone catchphrase
