By Opal Tribble
The happiest place on earth just made us a little happier with their recent announcement. It seems Disney had some extra fairy dust laying and it has decided to work its magic gift us with a virtual tour of this magical place. If you use Google Earth you can now virtually explore Walt Disney World’s, Walt Disney Resort in 3-D.
Walt Disney Resort in 3-D is a three dimensional park and gives the users completely immerse themselves in what the destination has to offer. For those who’ve already been you can virtually relive fond memories by visiting some of your favorite magical spots, or if you’ve ever been you can see what the hype is all about. All it takes is a few clicks of your mouse, and you’re quickly transported into one of the four Disney parks of your choosing.
“Guests and travel planners can now explore our world with just a few clicks of a mouse, and they can book vacations while being immersed in what the destination has to offer,” says Jay Rasulo, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, in a statement.

Disney thought of everything when they created Walt Disney Resort. You’ll be able to explore Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Resorts. While you’re exploring Disney’s virtual world you’ll have the chance to make reservations or check out prices at various hotels. You can check at the menus at the virtual restaurants, check out upcoming attractions by visiting the events calendar, and purchase tickets at corresponding links.
According to Disney, about 100,000 photos were taken by eight photographers to create this virtual experience they also had to create 1,500 3-D models of buildings. I enjoy the small touches they added to enhance the user’s experience. You’ll find souvenir shops, park benches, and merry go round horses.
Don’t forget you’ll need Google Earth to virtually explore the magical world of Disney. Google Earth can be used by Windows Mac, and Linux users. I have it installed on my 17″ MacBook Pro.
When you open Google Earth type in Disney World, and Show Disney World in 3-D. Enjoy! Exploring Disney’s virtual world is truly a magical experience.
