T-Mobile releases Blackberry Curve Sunset, and boy, it’s sexy
T-Mobile debuted a lovely version of its very popular Blackberry, the Curve, in a chic shade of Sunset today across the country. I bought one, and am now experiencing life as an owner of one very sexy Curve.
It wasn’t the easiest thing to acquire, believe it or not. I thought that I’d be able to saunter on into my local T-Mobile retailer and pick up the handset without any problem, but it was not to be. I visited my nearest retailer and they didn’t have a single handset…might have been that t simply hey never received any, but my first attempt to land the Curve Sunset failed.
I then called around to my next closest T-Mobile retailer, nearly 30 minutes away, and was informed that customers had been coming in all day to purchase Blackberry’s latest color creation. When I arrived at the store, there were only four handsets left.
Though there was some adversity, I am officially a member of the Crackberry community. I signed up for the data plan ($20 monthly for unlimited data and email) and was on my merry way. Not a fast way, mind you; I’m less than enthused by the EDGE network’s ripping data transfer rates. But the Curve is a fantastic handset.
In fact, I was hoping to hold out on a new smart phone until Blackberry debuted the Bold (a date that isn’t quite set right now), or T-Mobile released either the HTC Touch Diamond or Touch Pro, or the Google Android-loaded HTC handset. No such luck, as the good people of College Park, MD decided to abscond with my HTC Dash, and my backup phone kicked the bucket yesterday.
Though I’m a bit of a newbie to the Blackberry world, I can say thus that far I like the fit. If anyone is in the market for a new handset and can’t stand to wait a month or so for the Bold, the Curve is a fantastic handset and will make for a great backup unit if you choose to upgrade to the Bold or one of the forthcoming HTC handsets.
