Twitterfone makes using Twitter even easier
By Emily Price
Obsessed with Twitter? Now you can keep up with your tweets on the go even better with Twitterfone which launched an audio interface on Friday that converts users Twitter feed into an audio file you can listen to on your phone.
Twitterfone initially launched a few months ago in May as a service that allows you to update your Twitter feed on the go. With the service you dial a number and say what you would like posted to your account. Twitterfone turns the audio file of your update into text and posts it on Twitter along with a link to the actual audio file so you’re followers can listen to the original.
Friday’s update allows users to call into the service and listen to the first ten messages on their twitter feed. Users also have the ability to listen to messages from their friends, and respond to messages either publicly or privately if they so choose.
The service, and all it’s features are free to use, and they have a local number set up in 19 countries so it’s pretty easy to keep up with on the cheap when you’re on the go. The service is so easy to use in fact that close to a quarter of a million people have signed up to use it since May, pretty impressive.
I’ was one of the earliest adopters of Twitter. It’s one of those things that can easily become an addition, even more so now that its getting easier and easier to keep your tweets updated. I’ve never really been a fan of listening to anyone read things to me, but I could definitely see myself checking in on my twitter while I’m on the go if I havem’t been able to get internet access in a while.
What do you think about Twitterfone? Could you see yourself posting tweets on Twitter or listening to the tweets of those you’re following?
