I just put in a 2 KW solar system for $16K, (not including batteries). Those cost comparisons seem excessive. I get about 3 times the output from solar than I would expect from wind. But the wind does blow at night. A wind/ solar combination may be the best option.

I must say i always had been a little leary of all the hype happening around solar. After checking out quite a few programs and buy options we made a decision to take the plunge. We wound up getting solar without having money down and now we immediatly started lowering costs the very first month is was installed. I must say that the primary advantages of solar look like real and I am happy that we thought to proceed with it.
