    mimbo2_preview

    3.) Mimbo Magazine

This is a popular theme that makes use of WordPress’s tagging features to spice things up a bit, and give the look and feel of a classy magazine-type website.  Mainly it exists as a clean, grid-based starter layout for designers to install and style to their own liking: which means it’s easily extendable via the editor already embedded in WP-Admin.

So far, it looks like it’s still only available for WordPress 2.3

    branfordmagazine_screenshot 7.) Branford Magazine

This theme was the creation of a developer that wanted to combine the aspects of both the Revolution Theme and the Mimbo Theme to create a clean magazine-style presentation.  In the words of the developer:

“I’d like to make very clear that I did not everything completely new. I looked for good existing stuff and adopted it for my purposes. That´s one of the good things about open source: you don´t have to invent the wheel over and over again. The result is an amazing magazine style theme combining the very best of two famous magazine themes in one single theme.”

    wyntonmagazine_screenshot 9.) Wynton Magazine

This is the second creation from the developer who brought us Branford Magazine.  “…Wynton Magazine is somehow the “brother” of my first WordPress theme “BranfordMagazine”. It uses a lot of Branford’s code but also has its own face and style. The homepage has got a complete new face without a tabbed section. Besides the page templates you might know from BranfordMagazine I added another interesting one: The Section Page…”

    magazine12 10.) Megadine 1.2

This is an interesting theme- made primarily for category intensive news and magazine sites.  It promotes the featured article in each category in a “panel” type view on the homepage.  There’s even an older version of the theme that incorporates four columns instead of three.
