Blackberry Kickstart available for pre-register on T-Mobile

By Triston McIntyre

Blackberry Kickstart available for pre-register on T-MobileThough Blackberry’s newest handset to still not quite be on the market isn’t a flashy touch screen or anything like the Storm, the Kickstart, a flip-style variant of the Pearl, is almost ready for release. In fact, it is so close to release that you can register for the phone on T-Mobile’s website…but it isn’t on sale just yet.

Both TMoNews and Engadget Mobile have reported that T-Mobile has posted a page on its website reserved specifically for the new Blackberry Kickstart. Though you can’t quite drop any coinage on the new flip smartphone, you can show your dedication to the device by registering for whatever information hits the intertubes on the Kickstart until its release. The Kickstart really doesn’t have too much to boast over what you already know about the Blackberry Pearl, but that isn’t to say the Pearl is a bad handset; far from it, if you aren’t completely against the idea of the less-than-qwerty keyboard, the Pearl really is a sexy little handset.

If the Kickstart really doesn’t…erm…get you going, there are a few more interesting phones on the horizon for you tried and true T-Mobile customers. No word has been given yet as to whether T-Mobile will be picking up Blackberry’s latest top-end device, the Bold, but rumor has it that the HTC Dream with Google’s Android platform should be announced sometime next week.

For those of you who are really craving a touch handset, the Samsung T919 Tacco should be available before the end of the year. All things considered, its shaping up to be a pretty decent last two quarters of 2008 for T-Mobile fans.

If you really are interested in the Kickstart, you can either register for news on the handset, or you can just keep your browsers tuned to Tech.Blorge.com for further information on smartphone releases.
