Bargain hunters begin previewing Black Friday ads online

October 28, 2008

black_friday_ads Shoppers eager to stretch their budgets this holiday season are turning to the Web to get the upper hand in planning their Black Friday shopping trips. While it may be obnoxiously early to start scoping out deals, we have the sites that will help you stay ahead of the pack.

Seven Resources for finding Black Friday Deals

Black-Friday.net is leading the pack so far this season with advance notice of Black Friday deals from Sears and Toys-R-Us. It also provides links directly to the retailers’ Web sites so that you can purchase the items online and avoid standing in line.

Gottadeal’s Black Friday page offers even more deals slated for this year’s shopping rush. It already has holiday bargains posted from Wal-Mart and Ralph Lauren factory stores for the upcoming shopping season. Gottadeal also has a forum to compare notes on store hours for the major Black Friday events.

Blackfriday.info is another resource that compiles deals from major retailers. This site expects to have ads up soon from a dizzying array of U.S. retailers for Black Friday.

Dealnews has started posting Black Friday ads and news for this shopping season, but doesn’t have many deals listed quite yet. Keep an eye on this one to catch new deals as they are announced.

TheBlackFriday.com has promotions listed on its Web site as well. It has all the latest news, though you have to look below the current promotions to start planning your Black Friday shopping trip.

Bfads.net is another online deal site that specializes in finding Black Friday deals for consumers. The site also posts current promotions from across the Web in case you want to start stockpiling gifts before the mad rush on Black Friday.

Amazon hasn’t posted any discounts yet, but the online shopping leader has a page dedicated to Black Friday deals.

Black Friday Outlook

While it may seem ridiculous to start planning your holiday shopping now since it’s not even November yet, it may be wise to start thinking ahead. Retailers are expecting the touch economic climate to drive bargain hunters to seek the best deals, many of which are limited to Black Friday promotions.

The exclusive Hela Spa in Washington DC is offering Customized Gift Packages for Black Friday. Starting at just $30.00 you can pair products with services to get the most value for your dollar. You get two gifts in one, a present for under the tree and a service to use anytime during the year. Gift Packages are up to 50% off of the full price value of the products and treatments if sold separately.

Every year local news stations always interview people standing in line to see what they are after, and every year I find myself yelling at the TV because the item they are after could have been bought online Thanksgiving Day.
Expect the 2009 ads to have most, if not all items available at Black Friday prices starting at midnight, Wednesday into Thursday. Avoid the cold and long lines for 2009.

I agree with Black Friday Shopper sites like http://www.blackfridayads2009.info are already gearing up to have Black Friday store info and Black Friday online info and year round info – so you can shop before or during or after Black Friday.

I’m not sure the deals are going to be as good this year as everyone had thought they would be. Tight credit for merchants and a pessimistic view of sales means retailers aren’t looking to have much inventory or many loss leaders. Hopefully we’re all pleasantly surprised with the offerings – we’ll see soon enough!
