Job search: Top 10 best career search resources
By Todd Eastman
Finding a job in today’s climate can be a traumatizing event. Not only is unemployment high, new job creation is at an all time low. But there are still good jobs out there – if you know how to find them. Here are my top ten online resources for the job seeker.
- WetFeet (wetfeet.com) – Designed primarily for recent graduates, the site offers a lot of information on the interview process, finding job openings, and putting your best foot forward.
- EmploymentSpot (employmentspot.com) – A blog based website, it offers a jobs board, news and information related to job searching and finding the perfect job.
- Vault (vault.com) – Offers research for companies and employers, industries and careers, salaries, networking, job search advice, and career guides for sale.
- Salary.com (salary.com) – Offers career resources, small business services, jobs by salary range, surveys, and research.
- Experience.com (experience.com) – Offers job networking and guidance for college students and young professionals.
- Career Magazine (careermag.com) – Has a broad assortment of job seeker tools and a breakdown of 27 different career channels.
- CareerBabe (careerbabe.com) – Your “personal career advisor” for today’s challenging job market. Provides resources and information for new grads, experienced professionals, part-timers, or those searching for a mentor.
- U.S. Department of Labor (dol.gov) – Is the U.S. government’s best resource for career information, current wages, and educational requirements.
- ProvenResumes (provenresumes.com) – A resume writing service, also provides free resume writing tips, samples and examples.
- Career Resource Center (careers.org) – A blog website, it provides career articles and information, recent career blog posts, related career services, and plenty of readers to commiserate with.
There are a lot of great resources available for job-seekers and I’m sure I missed some really good ones. If you have used some that you found useful, please share them with us!

My comment is that the links are US sites. It would have been more appropriate to list local sites. I am currently unemployed and your article caught my eye. Alas, not a big help really.
