Top 10 best environmental and conservation websites

The environment and conservation of our natural resources are hot items today. Here are ten Web sites that covers a wide assortment of well known and well organized groups dedicated to wildlife and natural resource protection.
- The Sierra Club (www.sierraclub.org) - Although their Web site is visually unimpressive, the Sierra Club offers a broad variety of information and resources, if you are willing to look for it.
- World Wildlife Federation (www.panda.org) - A very nicely formatted Web site with direct links to information and resources for protecting the world’s wildlife and their habitat.
- The Nature Conservancy (www.nature.org) - A very nice site with easily accessible content and stunning photography.
- League of Conservation Voters (www.lcv.org) - More geared towards politics and political activism in saving and protecting the environment and natural resources.
- Conservation International (www.conservation.org) - Provides a wonderful multimedia experience, great for kids and young adults who want to explore the natural world from their computer.
- The Wilderness Society (www.wilderness.org) - Wilderness, global warming, energy, roadless forests, and stewardship of the land is their primary focus. Excellent blog with up-to-date news.
- Audobon Institute (www.audoboninstitute.org) - An excellent educational resource with ongoing programs and frequently changing content.
- The Cousteau Society (www.cousteau.org) - The site carries on the traditions of founder Jacques-Yves Cousteau, “educating people to understand, to love and to protect the water systems of the planet, marine and fresh water, for the well being of future generations.”
- Wildlife Conservation Society (www.wcs.org) - The organization sponsors the Bronx Zoo, New York Aquarium, Central Park Zoo, Queens Zoo, and Prospect Park Zoo. The Wildlife Conservation Society is heavily involved in research and education, with updated news and wonderful photography.
- African Wildlife Foundation (www.awf.org) - The gruop seeks to protect African wildlife, protecting the land, empowering people, and engaging you.
