EnerTech to specialize in mid-sized wind turbines

By Susan Wilson

EnerTech to specialize in mid-sized wind turbines Wind turbine companies have tended to fall into two categories: small home turbines and large utility turbines, leaving a hole in the middle ground.  Now one wind energy company has declared that it will focus its business on medium sized wind turbines.

According to UPI, EnerTech will concentrate on producing wind turbines that will provide clean energy to schools and businesses with mid-sized wind turbines.  These turbines will generate between 10 killowatts and 1 megawatt of energy.

EnerTech founder Dale Jones considers this to be an under served market with few players and a lot of growth potential.  Unlike the large turbine market where a number of companies are vying for utility and municipality business or the home market where a myriad of companies are vying for residential business, schools, businesses, and farms are relatively under served.

The company was founded in 2001 in Newton, Kansas.  EnerTech employs between four and ten people who manufacture and refurbish mid-sized wind turbines.

The company does offer the E6 wind turbine for home or farm use and the E48 for smaller business installations.  Both of these turbines produce 60 hz alternating current and are designed to be connected to the grid.  When wind power is scarce, your home or business will draw from the regular utility grid.  When the wind is blowing, you supplement grid power cutting down on your bill or even cutting out utility power altogether.

EnerTech is also working on new turbine models that will work well in rural residential, farm and small business markets.  By continuing to improve and upgrade the choices for this market, EnerTech is planning on growing its business in this sector.

Although EnerTech currently has a small staff, it has five projects underway at the moment.  With the incoming administration, 2009 looks to be a great year for small companies like this to begin building the green economy touted by Barack Obama over the last several months.

We really need to get on about the business of becoming energy independent. This past year and the record gas prices played a huge part in our economic meltdown and seriously damaged our economy and society. We keep planning to spend BILLIONS on bailouts and stimulus plans.Bail us out of our dependence on foreign oil. Make electric plug in car technology more affordable. It cost the equivalent of 60 cents a gallon to drive an electric plug in car. The electric could be generated from wind or solar. Get with it! Utilize free sources such as wind and solar. Stop throwing away money on things that don’t work. Invest in America and it’s energy independence. Create cheap clean energy, create millions of badly needed green collar jobs. Put America back to work. It is a win-win situation. We have to become more proactive citizens, educate ourselves and demand our elected officials move this country forward into the era of energy independence. Jeff Wilson’s new book The Manhattan Project of 2009 Energy Independence NOW outlines a plan for America to wean itself off oil. We need a plan and we need it now! http://www.themanhattanprojectof2009.com
