The European Union is currently in the process of banning traditional light bulbs due to their non-efficient, environment-harming properties. Which is admirable. But new LED light bulbs could be on the way that make fluorescent bulbs, the current darling of the green movement, look like something from The Flintstones.

Google is launching online tools to help users detect when their internet provider is slowing down particular types of traffic such a peer-to-peer filesharing. It says the tools are more accurate than any rivals because they use a wider variety of servers.

MGM, Paramount, and Lionsgate are reportedly joining together to form their own TV channel called Epix. The channel would show movies from the three studios nine months after they are released in theaters. In addition to the television channel, the group also plans on launching a Web site where users can stream movies on demand.
