Batteries will last 20 hours longer

Batteries are to last much, much longer. In March Energizer will release new Advanced Lithium batteries, which offer four to eight times the power of the company’s existing alkaline Max brand when used in digital cameras.
These new lithium batters will be available in AA and AAA sizes. The batteries not only last up to 20 hours longer than existing models, but also weigh 33 percent less.
This is most excellent news. A guess is they will carry a price premium, but it will be well worth it.
In one of those puerile press releases which so pollute the landscape Kent Hatton, Brand Group Director at Energizer Canada is alleged to have said:
As consumers’ lifestyles center on devices which are more wireless and portable, we are seeing dynamic growth in our Performance-Lithium batteries. Energizer Advanced Lithium represents a key step towards enlarging the brand franchise, attracting more and new consumers and growing the overall battery category.
What a load of cobblers to launch such an important product.
There will be a big marketing campaign according to HereShow which carried the news.
One would have thought it totally pointless. Show an user batteries that last that long and then stand back for the stampede.

I Love Energizer lithuim AA’s, I’ve been using them for almost 2 years now, they just last forever and ever and ever, very awesome batteries, expensive but awesome

The price premium is going to be outrageous I’m sure. Lithium’s already cost a fortune, especially when compared to a pack of ray-o-vacs that are $.99, you get a $.50 coupon from their web site (unlimited number), and use at stores that double coupons thus making the batteries essentially free. I can pay sales tax on a LOT of free alkaline AA 2-packs before I hit what these new ones will cost!
