Windows Mobile 6.5 video leaks
By Emily Price
Windows Mobile 6.5 is expected to drop this coming week at Mobile World Congress. There has been quite a bit of speculation on what we’ll be seeing from the new operating system, and now a video has hit the Web that is supposedly the new OS in action.
The video shows Windows Mobile 6.5 being run on a HTC Touch HD handset. While there’s no way to really prove that what you’re looking at is actually Windows Mobile 6.5, chances are pretty good it is.

Features that you can likely expect to find in the new Windows Mobile is a new larger on-screen keyboard, with larger keys making it easier to use. A new version of Microsoft’s internet explorer with better page rendering as well as the ability to zoom in on parts of the screen and a full screen option, and a new Today screen with large icons and fonts.
The new operating system is also expected to use a new interface, which resembles honeycombs. The interface is expected to be very pretty to look at, but not to work very well when it comes to lower-spec hardware.
Windows Mobile 6.5 also replaces pocket outlook with Outlook live, which will allow uses to sync multiple e-mail accounts with the same inbox, and overall improve your e-mail experience on your handset.
We’ve already heard that Microsoft plans’ on launching MyPhone at Mobile World Congress next week as well. MyPhone is a Web site that will allow customers to back up the data on their phone to the password protected site, and then restore data onto their phone should it be lost, damaged or stolen. The service would also allow you to switch between phones very easily.
We know what we think we’re going to see from Microsoft this week- what would you LIKE to see the company come out with?
