CBS streams full episodes from TV.com on iPhone

Hulu may be losing friends and alienating users by shutting down access to their content from Boxee and other third party tools, but CBS is doing just the opposite. Now you can watch full television episodes from CBS on your iPhone by downloading the free TV.com application.
TV.com is the CBS streaming video that is akin to Hulu, but not yet as well known. The site also streams shows from the CW, CBS Sports, Showtime and CNET Networks.
You can download the application for free from iTunes and start watching right away. The application allows you to look through episodes of your favorite shows and build your own feed.
You can stream television over a Wi-Fi connection or over your iPhone’s wireless connection from your carrier. However wireless streaming may be too slow to really enjoy on first generation iPhones.
Probably the best part about the TV.com iPhone application is that there aren’t any ads. While this may change in the future, it shouldn’t stop you from enjoying it now.
The popularity of the iPhone platform and the open tact that CBS is taking in terms of offering their video content could give the site a huge boost against Hulu. With the combined content of NBC and Fox, Hulu has quickly become the largest site offering premium long-form video on the Web.
Many of the networks have partnered with Apple to offer their programming to users in a pay-per-episode model through iTunes. This new model cuts out the revenue to boost the size of the audience.
If this becomes a trend on the iPhone, it could this cut into Apple’s profit from iTunes and also slim AT&T’s margins on the data plan. That’s only people can enjoy watching television on the small screen.
Will you be starting to watch full television episodes on your iPhone?
