Acer’s 11.6-inch Aspire One AO751h the Godzilla of netbooks

Acer’s 11.6” Aspire One AO751h is the Godzilla of netbooks Acer has announced the pricing and availability of two new models in its Aspire netbook line, including one with an 11.6-inch screen. There’s no official definition on how large a netbook can be, but you can be certain the AO751h will crush any other netbook in its path.

The 11.6-inch screen on the AO751h beats the largest screen size from competitor Asus’s Eee PC line by a full inch-and-a-half. Acer hopes that users will want the larger screen and extra pixels to use multiple windows and minimize scrolling.

The Aspire One AO751h has a starting price of $380 for what is basically a stripped down full-size laptop. The AO751h is the first Acer netbook to boast a full size keyboard for those that aren’t willing to sacrifice on functionality.

The six-cell battery included in the AO751h lasts as long as eight hours on a single charge. Generally consumers have to choose between having a large display or longer battery life, but Acer has balanced the two nicely.

Also included in the new model is a multi-touch capable touchpad that allows users to pinch, flick and swirl their fingers for input on the device. This provides enhanced navigation on the device without including a full touch screen.

The AO751h comes with an 1.22 GHz Intel Atom processor and 1GB of RAM stock. It also features a 160GB SATA hard drive for lightning fast storage and retrieval.

As you can expect, the AO751 has a full suite of wireless capabilities including Wi-Fi and built in Bluetooth. Also included is the Acer Crystal Eye web camera.

Acer also announced the release of its new 10-inch AOD250 starting at an MSRP of $298. With these two models, Acer is serving the high-end netbook market and is edging ever closer to full laptop functionality.

If you had read the Levono interview you guys did a couple weeks back, you’d know that ACER is not the only company that thinks that big netbooks have a place in the market.
