Apple sued for sending Mafia death threats via iPod

By Dave Jeyes

Apple sued for sending Mafia death threats via iPod A Missouri man is suing Apple for taking part in a Mafia conspiracy by transmitting death threats through his iPod.  In other news, sales of tinfoil hats are skyrocketing in the same Missouri town.

The lawsuit, which was filed in a St. Louis District Court, alleges a conspiracy between the Mafia, Apple, the FBI, Department of Justice and an auto mechanic. The claimant, Mr. McKenna, says that all of these defendants helped the Mafia to stalk and harass him.

McKenna claims to have worked at a modeling agency that was a front for the Mafia in New York City. Upon quitting and moving across the country to St. Louis, he claims to have been threatened with extortion and murder if he did not return.

The police, upon hearing this story, promptly ignored McKenna’s claims, prompting him to call the FBI. Neither law enforcement agency wanted to be bothered with the outlandish claims, leading McKenna to believe they were part of the conspiracy.

Apple got involved in 2005, when McKenna purchased an iPod Shuffle. He claims that the device was outfitted with a special receiver by Apple that allowed the Mafia to send audible and text death threats to the iPod.

After getting rid of his bugged iPod Shuffle, McKenna later bought an iPod Mini. He claims that this device was similarly outfitted to receive signals from the Mafia.

He later claimed that his home and Audi A4 Quattro had also been bugged. However, he blames an auto mechanic for planting listening devices in his automobile.

McKenna reportedly hired a private investigator who found listening devices in his home and car. When asked to confirm this story by the police, the investigator said that he found no such bugs for McKenna.

This is obviously a strange saga for a company such as Apple to be drawn into. However that may just be the price for having such a cult-like following and mass appeal.

A man who is obviously suffering from a mental disorder is worth mocking online? I feel rather disturbed by the author’s use of someone’s mental disorder in this article.
