I keep trying and trying to confirm 2 friend requests I’ve received since the new Facebook redesign.

Every time I click, the “friend requests link” (at the right-hand side of the page and now also at the top of the page), I get redirected to my News Feed/Live Feed page.

Is anyone else having this problem?

If the idea was to push me off FB to Twitter, they have done a good job. Pushing Status Feed to the top doesn’t work like it did before, using Live Feed vice News Feed Doesn’t work like it did before. If they had at least told me in advance that changes are coming and here is how you can negate them, I wouldn’t be this upset. But to just have them show up, and undo all my customizations, is unforgivable. See you on Twitter and WordPress.com

I’m thinking of leaving Facebook. I’m tired of the spam applications. How many freaking apps do I need to tell me I am related to my brother?

And who really gives a spit if someone bought a house in Farmville ? Or the photo of the day app? Or “my friends want to know my birthday” app. Just tired of trying to find my friends postings among all the spam.

More than once I have seen my posts and other friends posts just disappear for no known reason. This has happened on more than one occasion.

This newsfeed “change” is probably the latest reason to leave.

Not to mention, the group demanding the return of old FB had hundreds of thousands of new members almost immediately…

mak – I’ve not worked out if there is a distinct pattern with this problem, but I think it may be that the option only appears immediately after switching to Live Feed and disappears if you use another feature or come back to the site later.

So if it isn’t coming up, it may be worth trying switching to News Feed and then straight back to Live Feed, then trying the Edit Options button.

Very helpful post. However, FYI, the “Edit Options” fix is not working for many people (because, apparently, the “Edit Options” link either isn’t appearing at all, or appears once, and then doesn’t link to the page you describe).
