Top 5 tips for Black Friday – how to grab a bargain successfully
Black Friday is almost upon us yet again, and the one day of the year when bargain hunting is regarded as a national pastime needs to be taken seriously or you’re likely to come away empty-handed. Here is a short guide of how to bag a bargain on Black Friday.
The Early Bird Catches The Worm
If you’re adverse to getting up early, getting some fuel (and strong coffee) inside you, and heading out before the crowds, then you’re limiting your chances of grabbing a bargain. Stores tend to stock only a few of each heavily-reduced product, so it really is first come, first served. If you miss the first wave of bargains then you’re likely to be stuck with the cheap or small products, or even the unwanted stock the store is desperate to shift.
Have A Plan
It may seem overly complicated to plan your trip into the city before you head off but it can really pay dividends. Don’t mosey off into town not knowing what you’re after, which stores you’re heading for, or what sort of price you have in mind. Instead, plan in advance, researching the best deals, the best stores to shop at, and the budget you should be looking to pay for your particular want.
Use The Web
This follows on from the last tip. Part of your advance planning should involve using the Web to research the brands, makes, and model of the product you are after and the price you should be looking to pay. There are dozens of sites on the Internet offering advice and the latest bargains to be had on Black Friday, and these should be checked up to the minute you set foot outside the door.
Be Prepared To Fight
This doesn’t mean heading out wearing boxing gloves and hard hat, although both would undoubtedly come in handy. You do need to be prepared to jostle and push your way to the front of the queue, or to hang on to your bargain of choice once you’ve laid a finger on it. Other people are going to play rough and fight dirty and if you’re not prepared to join them then you maybe shouldn’t even enter the ring in the first place.
Don’t Forget Cyber Monday
So, despite this advice you’ve missed out on the Black Friday deal you had in mind. It’s a shame, and you’ll no doubt be kicking yourself. But wait, because it’s not over yet. Black Friday is now followed every year by Cyber Monday. This, as its name would suggest, is the online alternative to Black Friday, and it happens because people buy the bargains they spotted over the weekend online once they go back to work on the Monday.

You should also check out price alert sites to find deals. I’ve already made a list of the gifts i’m buying at ZingSale.com, and now i’ll get an email when any of them go on sale.
