Psystar owners insane judging from investor forecast report
As the legal battle continues between Psystar and Apple, some interesting information has been discovered. During the investigation process, Psystar’s aggressive growth model was revealed showing how out of touch with reality the folks running the company are.
The latest development in the Psystar vs Apple legal saga resulted in a judgment that Psystar did indeed violate Apple’s copyright and DMCA. A follow-up hearing is set for next month for remediation discussions.
However, in the meantime some interesting investor prediction reports were discovered from Psystar. According to Gizmodo, the company documented two different forecast scenarios. Conservatively, Psystar predicted that the company would sell at least 1.45 million Mac clones by 2011. This prediction was made despite the fact the company only managed to sell 768 units in the past year.
Even more shocking, the aggressive forecast report indicates that the company planned to move 12 million Mac clones by 2011, which is a tremendous difference between the conservative predictions. It really makes you wonder if the company heads are just throwing random numbers out there or if they really believe this to be possible.
To sweeten this situation, representative from Psystar indicated that the company felt that the legal battle with Apple would give them a competitive edge. Apparently the folks at Psystar believe that competitors would not want to get into the same situation with Apple and would avoid it like a train wreck.
This logic seems a bit twisted, as the company is actually proving why other companies would not go down Psystar’s futile path in the first place. There is a good reason (evident from the judgment) why other companies have not tried what Psystar is doing in the past. It really makes you wonder how much money Psystar has spent in legal fees as it undoubtedly outstrips any profit made from the measly 768 Mac clones sold.

All it shows us REALLY is that there were 768 totally clueless idiots that actually PAID these scammers for what was clearly something illegal. But hey, people still buy stuff from the scammers in white vans in the grocery store parking lot. As was said long ago, a fool and his money are soon parted.
