Diggnation cohost claims Apple Tablet will be “shockingly” inexpensive
Diggnation, a popular videocast with a history of revealing information on upcoming Apple products, has reopened the Apple tablet rumor mill with a hint of a “shockingly” low price.
Actor John Hodgman, known as the PC character in the Apple commercials, was on the latest episode of Diggnation hosted by Kevin Rose and co-host Alex Albrecht. During the episode, Mr. Rose asked Mr. Hodgman about the long rumored Apple Tablet, and Mr. Hodgman just laughed it off and said they don’t tell him anything.
It was at this point that Mr. Rose, who has a reputation of spilling details of Apple products prior to release, turned to Mr. Albrecht and asked him for details on the Tablet. Mr. Albrecht declined to comment, but after much pestering from Mr. Rose, he found the price “shockingly low” and then refused to say any more.
In my last piece on the Apple Tablet I said I was done reporting on this product until Steve Jobs shows one himself, but the guys at Digg has a rather good track record with knowing Apple news early. If anyone else had said this, I’d laugh it off, but darn it, they sometimes get this right. Is this real or a way of teasing their audience?
