BlackBerry e-mail not working for all major U.S. carriers today
BlackBerry users are not having a fun day of it as e-mail outages are being reported all across the United States and Canada for the popular smartphones.
The other day we reported how the BlackBerry phones from Research In Motion (RIM) were seeing high user satisfaction numbers right now. Well, if the poll was taken today, it would be a different story.
CrackBerry, a popular BlackBerry fan site, is reporting that e-mail service for the phones is down across all of the United States and Canada right now. No one is exactly sure when the outage occurred, but I can confirm I got the last email on my BlackBerry Tour at 2:39 a.m. CST this morning, but my Gmail account is showing emails that came in at 2:57 a.m. that are not on my phone.
Engadget is reporting that SMS text messaging is down also, but that may be a spot issue as I just did a test message back and forth to my phone and both worked.
Carriers are telling customers they have no clue when the service will return, so be prepared for a long haul today without your mobile e-mail, folks.
Update: It appears the e-mail began working again around 1:00 p.m. CST.

I would like to know why do I have a phone that I can’t do anything with…I can’t make calls, no texts, BBMs, email, internet, nothing…this has been going on for over two weeks….why am I paying for a service that I’m not getting and no one can say when everything will work again?
