Last minute Christmas gift ideas – Give Google Chrome to someone you love
Google Chrome is a fine Web browser, right up there with Firefox, IE, and Safari. And yet I’m not sure whether it’d be top of my Christmas list. Then again, some people are hard to buy for, so why not just send them Google Chrome instead. At least it saves shopping around for last minute Christmas gift ideas.
Google has been pushing Chrome since it first released the Web browser in beta last September. And that promotional onslaught isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.
Google’s latest initiative to spread the Chrome love far and wide is to try and get us all sending the browser to someone as a Christmas gift. By visiting the GiveChrome Web site, anyone can add a theme and send the browser to a friend for the holidays. Sure, it’s free anyway but it’s the thought that counts, isn’t it?
This is a good marketing ploy by Google, and it should help up Chrome’s market share. But I’d advise against only giving Chrome as a gift this year. Maybe wrap up a nice new netbook for someone and send them Chrome as well.
