Rumor: Lenovo developing e-reader
As if the e-reader market wasn’t already crowded enough, it’s looking like Lenovo is going to enter the market also.
It’s looking like the Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook and Sony Reader may be getting some competition from Lenovo. Engadget is reporting (from a translated report at Tech163) that Lenovo is active development on this product and could already be doing some internal testing on the device. When the company was contacted for comment the rumor was not outright denied, so there is ever possibility that it is real.
With the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) only days away, more could be learned there, but not even that is a certainty at this point.
Essentially, with news like Kindle edition books outselling print copies this Christmas, it is certainly feasible that more and more companies are going to looking into getting in to the e-reader game. The question is how many of these devices can the market really sustain?
