Russians devising plan to deflect Apophis asteroid

January 1, 2010

Redbox accused of possible copyright infringement over alternate DVD artworkThe Russians have apparently seen the movie Armageddon a few times as they are preparing a plan to deflect an asteroid that has a slim chance of hitting the Earth in 2029.

The 350-metre-wide Apophis asteroid was discovered in 2004, and while it once seemed to have a higher chance of hitting the Earth, NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) is now saying it has a one in 250,000 chance of striking us.  However, according to The Guardian, the Russian government is discussing a plan that would send a mission to the asteroid to try to bump it off its current course, and make sure it doesn’t strike also in 2036 when it is scheduled to pass by again.

While Russia is not revealing details on its plan yet, they do say that they will reveal it to other countries when it is completed and ask them to assist with the effort.

    The Bible speaks of two meteors hitting the earth; one in the sea and one on land. (Read Revelation 8:8 – 11.) “And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire and was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;

    And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. And the third angel sounded and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell on the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters,

    And the name of the star was called Wormwood, and many men died of the waters because they were made bitter.” Could this be one meteor that was blown up into two smaller ones? Could Apophis be the “Wormwood” of the Bible?

    Many believe that the first one is a huge volcano that blows off it’s top (like a mountain) into the sea, but the second one is definitely a meteor.

    Whatever the case may be, according to the Bible, at least one will kill one third of all men on the land. Is this one called Apophis capable of causing such a calamity? Many will die from the poisonous water it (Wormwood) causes. Is there something in (or about) this meteor that can cause this to happen?

    Hopefully, we will have some answers to these questions in the near future as Apophis approaches. At the same time, maybe (and hopefully,) we can determine that this one will not be the one that is prophecized in the Bible, and thus, the prophecy will be for a later time.

    No. It is all a load of Mumbo Jumbo.

    That’s about it.

    Sorry If the truth disappoints you.

    Chernobyl is the Russian word for Wormwood.

    The first six seals are events that have already happened. Several rocks from space have already hit earth (documented) and triggered partial extinctions of many things.

    It is important to remember that the angel opening the seals stops between six and seven and warns about the events yet to come. Wormwood is in the past as are all the events before the seventh seal is opened. And no, it is not Mumbo Jumbo. It is passed down knowledge, or is based upon it;- perhaps mistranslated a bit. Prophecy is not about guessing, it is about knowing and certain future events are predictable based on past events. Planetary and astronomical motion are very predictable given just a few facts. It is very plausible that ancient civilizations knew enough facts to predict some devastating events.

    As to the mountain that falls burning into the sea;- this is plausibly the explosion of Thera in approximately 1650 BC, which blew over 100 square miles of earth off the map;- obliterated the coastlines of Turkey and Greece leaving nothing but barren rock and caused a nuclear winter lasting two whole years. A layer of ash covers the whole planet at the geological point of Thera’s explosion. And you can bet a huge portion of humanity perished as a result of failed crops and calamitous weather. Many cultures document the two year darkness. Thera is credited with causing the collapse of the Egyptian civilization of that time.
