Motorola Devour: Verizon’s next Android phone
Barely two months after Verizon released the Droid, the wireless company is rumored to be readying the launch of another device running the Google Android mobile operating system.
The phone has a touch screen interface, slide-out keyboard and a trackpad that allows users to interact with the phone in a number of ways. Some previous models have included a joystick, but the trackpad should make transitioning back and forth from the touch screen more natural.
The Motorola Devour will also run Motorola’s BLUR custom Android skin that organizes your conversations and social networking updates in one place. This is one upgrade that Motorola packed into the Devour that wasn’t on the Droid.
In addition to these features, the Devour will also include Wi-Fi, GPS and might come in more than one color. Users will also have access to thousands of applications through the Android Market.
The real question still remains whether Verizon and Android can compete against AT&T and Apple.
