Apple sends out invites for Jan. 27th eventThe invitations have gone out for an Apple press event to happen on Wednesday, Jan. 27.

Originally thought to happen on Jan. 26, Apple has announced a press event to happen at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater on Jan. 27 at 10 a.m. PST. The invite includes the tag line “Come see our latest creation.” and features an Apple logo surrounded by paint splatter.

Unless Apple has somehow developed a product in complete stealth mode, this will be the announcement at long last of the Apple Tablet/iSlate device.  The likely hood of  this being anything else seems to be fairly low as it definitely implies that something completely new will be discussed at the event.  Also add in that iPhone events tend to happen in June, and iPod events happen in September, with Mac events happening pretty randomly, all of the evidence does point to this being a totally new device.

We will of course bring you coverage of the event the day it happens.
