Rumor: Zune phone to debut at Mobile World Conference
Having been rumored for ages now, some are claiming that the mythical Zune phone may be announced at this year’s Mobile World Conference in Barcelona, Spain.
Gizmodo cites Spanish language blog MuyComputer in saying that a new Windows Mobile 7 phone will debut later this month at the Mobile World Conference that includes Zune software support. While not exactly the “Zune Phone” that people originally envisioned, it could go a long way to making Microsoft a bigger player in the mobile market that Apple is slowly clawing its way at.
The phone will reportedly have a 480 x 272 screen, HDMI video out, and weigh around 2.45 ounces. Supposedly Microsoft has also teamed with Nvidia for the use of Tegra, but like everything else, that is unconfirmed at this time.
The Mobile World Conference will be taking place Feb. 15 to 18, so we should know for sure in about two weeks if all of this is true.
