Evidence mounts that the iPad will eventually have a camera
More and more evidence is showing that the iPad will eventually have a forward facing camera for video conferencing, the only question is “when”.
Since the announcement of the iPad from Apple back in January, one of the biggest questions people have had about it is why it was lacking a forward facing camera. It seemed that the device was perfect for video conferencing, yet there was no camera. Well, since that day, evidence has popped up here and there that eventually, although no one knows when, it will indeed have one.
MacRumors is reporting that in the latest version of the SDK (software development kit) for the device, there are references to the camera, a flash and the ability to zoom the camera in and out. 9to5Mac even graphics optimized for the iPad that clearly show a video camera next to the words “Accept” and “Decline”.
It certainly looks like the iPad will one day have a camera, but will it sneak out in the first generation device, or are we seeing clues to the 2011 model?
